N2 - An improved extend chirp scaling (ECS) algorithm for solving the zeros expansion problem of traditional ECS algorithm is introduced in this paper. By applying traditional ECS algorithm to missile-borne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging, it is found that a large number of zeros expansion need to be performed before further processing, so a SAR image with false targets information can be achieved, and the targets' peak values are reduced, and also the targets' main lobes are widened. Based on the problems mentioned above, an efficient method using scaled Fourier transform (SCFT) is proposed, which can solve the zeros expansion problem properly. Extensive simulation result shows that the proposed algorithm achieves SAR image without false targets. Furthermore, when compared with traditional ECS algorithm, the performance analysis results indicate that the proposed algorithm is of theoretical interest and also of great relevance to applications.
