摘要

A new slotted split-channel medium access control (SSC-MAC) protocol is proposed for multihop wireless networks to maximize concurrent packet transmissions. By adjusting the relationship between the reservation slot (RS) on the control channel (CCH), data packet transmission slot (TS) on the data channel (DCH) and acknowledgment slot (AS) on the acknowledgment channel (ACH), the channel reservation, data packets and their confirmation can be simultaneously transmitted on the CCH, DCH and ACH with fewer reservation collisions. Multichannel hidden and exposed terminal problems are also alleviated to greatly improve the channel access efficiency. Transmission interferences can be avoided by only observing CCH for the transmission time of a data packet. Numerical results show that compared to the IEEE 802.11 DCF protocol, SSC-MAC has obvious performance improvement under the same total data rate.
