An Aperture Coupled Frequency-Polarization Reconfigurable Patch Antenna Based on Tuning Channelized Liquid Metal

摘要

In this paper, a polarization and frequency reconfigurable patch antenna utilizing liquid metal (LM) and aperture-coupled technique is presented. The antenna comprises six layers: a circular patch, a foam layer, two Rogers TMM4 substrates, a T-shaped feed line, and a ground plane with multiple aperture-coupled slots. Polarization configuration is achieved by filling the microftuidic channels with liquid metal plugs to modify the T-shaped feed line structure. Frequency reconfiguration is implemented by filling slots on the ground plane, preserving different aperture-coupled channels. By adjusting the structure of feed line and ground plane, seven polarizations and two frequency reconstructions can be attained at the current stage.
