N2 - Since the 1950s, aircraft have become a secure method of transportation and their role in commercial services has continuously expanded, as reflected in the rapid growth of passenger and cargo traffic. Due its advantages, such as being comfortable and quick, commercial aviation occupies a unique position in the global transportation structure. However, civil aviation accidents occur annually resulting in heavy losses. Using the classification criteria of the CAST / ICAO Common Taxonomy Team (ClCTT), a statistical analysis and classification of scheduled commercial flight occurrences during 2008-2017 were performed. This period of time included 105 accidents and 457 incidents. For the type of accidents with high incidence and death rate, the causes were analyzed using the '2-4' Model, and preventive measures proposed for Enterprise Safety Culture (ESC), Security Management System (SMS), Crew and Ground Staff (CaGS), Environment Factor (EF) and Physical Entity (PE).
