摘要

Scanning calorimetric determination of the glass transition temperatures (T_g) of sodium disilicate doped individually with 25 wt.% of the oxides of La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, and Lu reveals the presence of the so-called “lanthanide tetrad effect” in their glass transition temperatures. This is to the best of our knowledge the first observation of a tetrad effect in the macroscopic properties of a high-temperature silicate phase.
