title = "A novel surface treatment for 316L stainless steel using magnetization technology",
abstract = "A novel surface treatment for 316L SS by using magnetization were studied and the effects on the electrochemical behavior and semiconductor properties were measured by potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (eIS) and Mott-Schottky (M-S) analysis in 3.5wt\% NaCl solution. The results of polarization and EIS curves showed that, the open circuit potential OCP, corrosion potential Ecorr, charge transfer resistance Rt increased after been magnetization treated, while the passive current Ip decreased. Mott-Schottky analysis indicated that the donor density of the treated specimen is 3.83×1027 m-3 and 5.09×1027 m-3 for untreated specimen, and the flat-band potential of treated specimen is more negative than untreated specimen. Donor density Nd and flat-band potential Efb are useful to explain the effects of magnetization treatment on the anodic dissolution process of 316L SS.",
