N2 - HA accomplished with EHA constitutes the dissimilar redundant actuator system driving the control surface together, namely HA/EHA system. The novel actuator structure has greatly improved the overall performance of the aircraft. However, the reliability assessment of HA / EHA system becomes difficult due to the increased complexity. Whether powered by hydraulic or electrical, the components present a power loss because of performance degradation during the power transmission process. Besides the power loss behaves multi-state with random characteristics affected by working conditions and other factors. On the other hand, servo actuators need to follow the flight control instructions, which means the power transmission process is controlled by the flight control computer. Regarding the issue above, this paper establishes a multi-state reliability assessment model based on power transmission of HA/EHA system. The universal generating function (UGF) is introduced to solve the curse of dimensionality of multi-state system. Additionally, proper universal operators are defined to describe the system structure as well.
