摘要
A study was conducted to demonstrate rattlers in amorphous packaging of binary mixtures of hard spheres. Simulations were performed to investigate the number of rattlers in different mixtures. The code developed by Donev and a team of researchers based on the Lubachevsky-Stillinger algorithm, was used to conduct the investigations. The spheres were compressed uniformly in this algorithm by increasing their diameter, while event-driven molecular dynamics was performed at the same time. The system was also compressed up to a reduced pressure, p= βP/p=(1010-1012) to easily identify the rattlers.
