N2 - In this paper the Morphological Quotient Image (MQI) based on close and open operation are compared, and the more effective operation is chosen. Furthermore, the influence of template size to recognition rate is studied. For different size of face images, the optimal template is obtained by experiment using Yale Face Database B. The optimal template is tested using CMU-PIE database and the experimental result is encouraging.
