abstract = "NURBS-based isogeometric analysis (IGA) is commonly recognized as more accurate and efficient than traditional finite element method because isogeometric method saves time from toilsome mesh generation and NURBS possesses high-continuity and high-order properties. However, it is difficult to implement isogeometric analysis on trimmed NURBS models owing to the difficulty of computing integral on trimmed-NURBS elements. In this paper a novel method is implemented to convert trimmed NURBS surface to T-splines for isogeometric analysis. B{\'e}zier extraction operation is employed to extract B{\'e}zier elements from T-spline surface with multiple extraordinary points. The trimmed NURBS surface and converted untrimmed T-spline surface are visualized and two numerical examples are investigated to demonstrate the validity of the proposed method by comparing the IGA results with that from commercial software ABAQUS.",
