abstract = "The objective of this study is to develop a method for analyzing the causes of traffic conflicts accurately. Large-scale field tests have been carried out to collect data of traffic conflicts in naturalistic traffic situations by using 50 taxies equipped with video drive recorders (VDR) for the first time in China. The conflicts refer to crashes and near-crashes in which drivers are required a rapid, evasive operation to avoid a crash. Data include image of traffic environment, vehicle states and driver behaviors. Based on the natural and precise data, the interactions between driver, vehicle and environment are analyzed synthetically, and the causes of traffic conflicts are discussed.",
