A New Dihedral Reflector for Simultaneous Polarimetric Calibration and Background Clutter Extraction

摘要

In this paper, a new diamond-shaped dihedral reflector is proposed for simultaneous polarimetric calibration and background clutter extraction in target polarimetric scattering matrix (PSM) measurement. Traditional rectangular and triangular-shaped dihedral reflectors rotating with an integer multiple of 180 rotation around the radar line of sight (LOS) have relatively high biased components due to the long line connecting the two right-angled plates. Dihedral reflector with two diamond-shaped right-angled plates and a short connecting line demonstrates much better characteristic. Simulations are presented to show the essential improvement of performance using the proposed dihedral design.
