title = "A logic-perspective flaw identifying method under the STAMP framework",
abstract = "In modern complex systems, there have been an increasing number of components and interactions which brings new types of flaws threating safety. New theories and methodologies to identify and control these flaws are needed. This paper provides a new Logic-Perspective Flaw Identifying (LPFI) method which is based on an advanced accident causation model called Systems-Theoretic Accident Model and Processes (STAMP) where safety is regarded as control problems. LPFI mainly focuses on cooperation problems between multiple controllers, actuators and sensors where logic flaws of integrity, consistency and sequence are regarded as the three main sorts of flaws that would impact the sys- tem safety. LPFI provides a logic-perspective consideration of analysis and makes a supplement to the Systems-Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA) under STAMP framework. A case study on typical wheel breaking system (WBS) within Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) system is illustrated.",
