A Dual-Layer Ultra-Wideband Frequency Selective Surface for Electromagnetic Field Shielding

摘要

A novel dual-layer frequency selective surface (FSS) is proposed for electromagnetic shielding in an ultra-wideband (UWB). The full-wave simulated results show that the proposed FSS structure has a very large stop-band with transmittance lower than -10 dB spanning from 1.89 GHz to 15.95 GHz (relative bandwidth is 157.6%), and has good angular stability and polarization insensitivity of 60°. Meanwhile, the resonant mechanism is analyzed by surface current distribution and equivalent circuit model (ECM). Finally, a sample is fabricated, and the experimental results in a microwave anechoic chamber are in good agreement with numerical analysis.
