A delay-time-based postponed replacement-spare part provision policy with adaptive inspection

摘要

Collaborative management of maintenance and spare part provision plays a significant role in promoting the operation efficiency and reducing failure risks for industrial assets. This paper devises a postponed replacement-spare part provision policy based on delay time model under two-phase adaptive inspection. The first-phase inspection with longer interval is enforced only once, and is substituted via second-phase inspection with shorter interval subsequently. Following the inspection outcomes, the system is preventive renewed when the postponed ordered part, triggered with a delayed interval after the defect identification, is available; otherwise it is corrective restored via ordinary or urgent order, depending upon the various failure times compared with the order induced by defect identification. The proposed policy not only mitigates the unnecessary economy losses when it operates initially, but utilizes the remaining useful lifetime to a great extent. The applicability is demonstrated via a numerical experiment.
