A control method for the suppression of thermoacoustic instability

摘要

In this paper, in a horizontally located Rijke tube with an electric heat source, the sound pressure level of the tube for the position of the heat source was investigated and the thermoacoustic instability boundary for the heat source position was obtained. Our work is focused on the control method to suppress the instability by perforated plate surrounded with an annular cavity. The results show that the sound pressure level is suppressed and the instability boundary for the heat source position is diminished. The results also indicted that the bias flow through the liner could increase the acoustic energy absorption and improve the control effect to the instability.
