N2 - In this paper, a novel planar quadrifilar helix antenna with wide half-power beamwidth and wide axial ratio beamwidth characteristics is designed. The antenna is divided into three parts: feed network, radiator and connector. The feed network is a one to four power divider. The radiator has a planar structure. The signals from the feed network are transmitted to the radiator via metal strips on the connector. This planar structure greatly reduces the height of the antenna and realizes the miniaturization of the antenna. The simulation results show that the relative bandwidth (S 11<-10 dB) reaches 4.9 % and the gain reaches 3.14 dBi. The axial ratio beamwidth (axial ratio <4 dB) of the antenna is 139° and the half-power beamwidth is 120°.
