abstract = "Model-based System of Systems Engineering (MBSoSE) enables to improve the efficiency of the architecture design, and the performance analysis and modeling of highly complex system of systems (SoS). Introducing situational awareness into complex system of systems engineering (SoSE) can facilitate users to understand and analyze the SoS models and make decisions through the situational awareness. However, conventional texts or models cannot be intuitively understood by users through traditional SoSE approach. Therefore, this paper proposes a 3D visualization technology to support situational awareness using MBSoSE. A semantic modeling solution based on KARMA language and Graph-Object-Port-Property-Relationship-Role (GOPPRR) ontology is proposed to combine 3D visualization technology with co-simulation to enhance situational awareness through enhanced vision. It can enhance the capabilities of perception, understanding and prediction of decision makers. A case study is conducted to prove the effectiveness of the proposed solution which the braking scene is modeled in an intelligent vehicle SoS using the 3D visualization technology to dynamically co-simulate the braking scene.",
