摘要
The thermal ignition of spray-air two-phase flows plays an important role in engineering applications. In the literature, spray ignition was frequently studied using numerical simulation, whereas most experimental studies were conducted in closed vessels. In this paper, the ignition of kerosene-spray two-phase flows by propane-air combustion product was studied by experiments and theoretical analysis, and the ignition mechanism was demonstrated. The results indicate that the ignition temperature increases with the increase of excess air, but decreases with the increase of droplet size.
