Abstract

Severe convective weather is a meteorological phenomenon with greater destructive power. Aiming at the demand of early warning for severe convective weather, a wireless sensor network node design with atmospheric pressure and lightning sensing is proposed. The node has PSoC as the MCU of the node, LoRa as the wireless transmission means, and is added a highly integrated atmospheric pressure and lightning sensor. By these ways, the node design with high degree of integration and functional flexibility is realized. Test results show that nodes can effectively monitor pressure and lightning activity. And it has strong communication ability too. In addition, the node also has the advantages of low cost, high reliability, easy upgrade, convenient layout, etc. The node is expected to be candidate to provide the corresponding technical support for early warning service about severe convictive weather.
