Abstract

A wind rotor model of 1.5 MW wind turbine is taken as the research object in this paper. The aerodynamic performance of a wind rotor was tested in D4 wind tunnel in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, by using a self-designed test system. The test resulted show that the start-up wind speed is around 4m/s, the start torque is 0.034Nm(test condition), the rated power coefficient is 0.41, and the maximal power coefficient of the wind rotor reaches nearly 0.42. The aerodynamic performance of wind rotor is good when test wind is 5-20m/s.
