Abstract

This paper presents a wideband Plane Wave Generator (PWG) with fixed magnitude and equal phase excitations at sub-6 GHz. A 16\times 16 elements uniform antenna array with a dimension of 1.7 m\times 1.7m is developed. Sub-arrays and centrosymmetric structure are employed to reduce the number of magnitude controllable channels from 256 to 16. A cylindrical quiet zone with a diameter of 0.8 m and a length of 0.6 m is achieved over 2.2 GHz to 4.2 GHz in simulation. The measurement results agree with the simulation results reasonably well. The measured typical E-field amplitude and phase deviation values in the center quiet zone are less than ±1.3dB and ±10° over the frequency band from 2.6 GHz to 3.7 GHz.
