Abstract
Based on the construction of a campus-level computational grid environment, the concept and technology of grid portal are discussed and a web-based toolkit for computational grid portal-WebCom is designed and implemented, which offers a better user interface, consistent accessing pattern and easy usage of the grid services, and solves the complexity in using grid computing resources. In the design and implementation of WebCom, several issues such as security, system transparency, ease of use and completeness are taken into consideration, and the system test of WebCom is conducted and the result is compared with other grid portal projects.
