Abstract
Magnesium alloy is the lightest structural components in aerospace, electronics and automobile industry, so it has wider foreground and potential. The formability of magnesium alloy is very poor in the room temperature because of its hexagonal closed-packed (HCP) crystal structure. The formability will be significantly increased at elevated temperatures. Therefore warm forming technology is deemed as the most applicable technology of magnesium alloy. In the present investigation, the properties, classification, application of magnesium wrought alloy and warm forming technology of this material are described, further more, the research status of warm forming technology and magnesium wrought alloy are discussed detailedly. Warm forming developed so rapid that the warm forming technology and the applications of magnesium wrought alloy is facilitated at the same time.
