VOLTAGE AND CURRENT SHARING CONTROL OF A QUADRUPLE INTERLEAVED BIDIRECTIONAL DC-DC CONVERTER BASED ON MODEL PREDICTIVE CONTROL

Abstract

In this paper, a four-phase interleaved parallel bidirectional DC/DC converter topology is proposed. A model predictive control-based current equalization method and a voltage stabilization control method are introduced to meet the high power and lightweight demands for bidirectional DC/DC converters and to solve the problem of unequal current distribution between phases. A current-voltage dual-loop control scheme is constructed to solve the phase-to-phase current equalisation problem and stabilise the output voltage under load and input voltage variations. The effect of phase-shifted current prediction control on the inductor current is analysed, the current compensation quantity is introduced to achieve current equalisation control in different modes, and the value function is constructed to obtain the optimal duty cycle expression to achieve current prediction control. Output voltage error and input voltage feedforward are used to achieve fast response of inductor current to voltage change, and current equalisation and voltage regulation control between multiphase is achieved by combining current control. Simulations verify the effectiveness of the current predictive control method and the dual-loop control method combining voltage feedforward and current predictive control.
