Abstract

The virtual prototyping technology for complex product is one of the hotspots in current CIMS technology. The development of the virtual prototyping has become a systemic engineering. It is a synthetic technology based on specialistic techniques and modeling/simulation techniques related to product, information techniques, multimedia/virtual reality techniques, AI techniques, system techniques and management techniques, etc.. Based on the research and primary practice on virtual prototyping technology undertaken by authors, the concept of virtual prototyping engineering for complex product is put forward. Furthermore, research on the connotation, composition, running mode and its architecture of virtual prototyping engineering for complex product are also introduced to enhance the study, practice and application of virtual prototyping technology for complex product in domestic enterprise.
