Abstract
Experimental study on vaporization characteristics of a certain type of engine's "Γ" type vaporizer was presented. The experiments were conducted under the atmospheric air pressure, using hot gas to heat the vaporizer, just like what the engine did. The main factors of the vaporization rates and Sauter mean diameter (SMD) including the air/fuel ratio(AFR), vaporizer inlet air temperature and the temperature of the wall of the vaporizer were studied. From the test results, it can be concluded that all of these three factors have great effects on the vaporization rates and the SMD. The increases of these factors would cause an increase in the vaporization ratio and a decrease in the SMD, and among these factors the wall temperature plays the most significant role.
