Vacuum flow field calculation of divert thruster

Abstract

The vacuum flow-field of interceptor divert thruster is the important basis for designing. Its plume infrared is the important research object for defense. Discrete N-S equations based on finite volume LU format was used in this article. Time-marching method was adopted to calculate the whole flow-field inside interceptor divert thruster nozzle and its plume. In the mean while, the chemical reaction participate by some main components was considered. The inside and outside nozzle distributions of those parameters were obtained, such as velocity, temperature, density, components consistency etc. Research indicates that the method in this article can simulate the inside and outside flow field of nozzle in vacuum very well. The plume expand rapidly in vacuum.
