University digital museum grid based on CGSP

In order to effectively integrate and share the enormous dispersed resources from 12 university digital museums in 8 cities, eliminate the phenomenon of information resource is isolated in so-called information island, University Digital Museum Grid (UDMGrid) has been developed to provide one-stop information services about kinds of digital specimens by portal, based on ChinaGrid Support Platform (CGSP), which is a generic grid middleware serves well in various grid applications. This paper presents the overall architecture of CGSP-based UDMGrid and a method of constructing ontology and its services, suggested to retrieve information by mapping global concepts to underlying local concepts. UDMGrid-DAI, a middleware, is assisting with access and integration of data from heterogeneous database sources in grid. For the robustness of UDMGrid, UDMGMon is designed and developed to monitor real-time status of UDMGrid s resources. The experiment result show that the method mentioned above is correct.
