Abstract
A general formulation of the control problem for nonlinear systems with two timescales is presented. The formulation unifies various aerospace applications in previous work under one framework and extends further beyond. Control synthesis procedures exploiting timescale separation are given, and the necessary requirements that should be met in the process are established. The associated stability analysis is formalized. A problem of entry trajectory control is solved to provide a step-by-step demonstration of the procedure and numerical illustrations.
