Abstract
The anisotropic porous model covering the bristles bending deflections was used to establish the calculation model. The effect of bristles for the flow media was considered a resistance force, which was added into N-S equation as a source term. The model was established on the basis of the Finite Volume Method and the SIMPLE method. To this effect, the pressure field, velocity vectors distribution and leakage of brush seal were obtained from calculation of flow field. The influences of main parameters, such as: structure and working condition, on the sealing performance of brush seals, were analyzed and compared, showing that this method is suitable for the study of the brush seals.
