Abstract

A compressible turbulent isothermal round jet is carried out using large-eddy simulation (LES), for the nozzle exit jet Mach number Mj=0.9 and Reynolds number based on the jet diameter Re=3600. The dynamics of coherent structures are studied in terms of an analysis of instantaneous flowfields. This study concerning on disturbances is optimizing the enhancement of turbulent mixing and providing further understanding of a canonical turbulent flow.
