Abstract

A novel method to implement multiband plasma FSS using artificial defects is proposed. In this method, there is no need to change the structure of plasma FSS, and only part of plasma tube is controlled to be in defect state. By changing the defect state of different local small arrays, multi-frequency FSS can be obtained successively, such as dual-frequency, tri-frequency and quad frequency. The advantage of this method is that a single plasma FSS can be used to achieve a variety of stopband functions, which can flexibly adapt to the external varying electromagnetic environment.
