Abstract
The properties of electrorheological fluid intelligent material can be changed markedly while an external electric field is imposed on the fluid domain. The laser transmissivity of an electrorheological suspension of silica/starch composite particles was investigated. An AC electric field was utilized. The transmission under different situations such as various concentrations of the fluid, various electric field strengths and frequencies and various distances between two electrodes were measured.
