Trajectory design of jaws for displacement controlled profile 2D stretch-wrap bending

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

Focused on ACB and Cyril Bath numerical control (NC) profile 2D stretch-wrap bending machine, the trajectory design of tension cylinder jaws was discussed. A calculation formula related with local curvature of the part as well as friction was proposed to effectively control the axial tensile elongation of profile during bending. Based on the formula, the trajectory design of stretching jaws was realized, which lays a foundation for optimization of trajectory of jaws by finite element simulation. Production experiments were also carried out, demonstrating the reliability of the proposed method for jaw trajectory design.
