Abstract
A thin-foil time pick-up detector using an electron multiplier (proximity mesh dynode type) has been tested. The properties of this detector and their dependence on various parameters are discussed. In test measurements time resolutions of 550 ps and 250 ps have been obtained for α particles and fission fragments (lighter partner) of a 252Cf source, respectively.
