Abstract
To solve the conflict between stage-matching and computational cost during the 3-D(three-dimensional) aerodynamic optimization of multi-stage axial compressor, an optimization strategy was proposed, in which the stage to be optimized was simulated instead of the whole multi-stage compressor, while the stage environment was taken into account in the boundary conditions. The 4th stator with suction separation of a highly loaded 7-stage axial compressor has been optimized. Within the limited time, the adiabatic efficiency was improved about 0.8%, the total pressure ratio was improved about 4%, and the overall performance of the compressor was improved effectively. It is proved that the stage-matching and computational cost aer well balanced by this optimization strategy.
