Abstract

The thermodynamics of the electron gun are investigated for the W-band Sheet beam klystron using ANSYS. With the heater temperature at 1050°C, the stable and uniform temperature distributions are achieved for the designed non-axisymmetric structures of sheet beam electron gun. Furthermore, the axis thermal deformation of the cathode is 0.491mm, and the focus electrode is 0.594mm with the thermal expansion, which is much larger than that of cylindrical beam electron gun in TWT.
