Abstract

Based on a thermodynamic analysis, the effects of temperature, the ratio of steam to dimethyl ether (DME) on thermodynamic equilibrium compositions in the DME steam reforming system were obtained. The ratio of steam to DME to be 3 or more and low temperature was favorable for the reaction system equilibrium compositions. A system of DME steam reformation reaction for experiment and measurement was designed. Kinetics expressions parameters of Arrhenius style simplified model were determined on the data obtained from experiments. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 41st Annual Loss Prevention Symposium (Houston, TX 4/22-26/2007).
