Abstract

The miniaturization of vacuum electron devices requires a theory to describe the micro motion of electron beams. In this paper, a theory for the sheet beam electron are put forward to investigate the three-dimensional spatial potential using tensor analysis and differential geometry. The electron beam potential equation can be derived by setting a moving coordinate frame, solving numerical results and carrying out series expansion. This theory is further verified on a 0.22 THz sheet beam vacuum device. The spatial theoretical potential function and the CST simulation model are compared, which shows the overall change trend of the both results are consistent with each other. This work can give a new method for theory analysis in terahertz sheet beam vacuum devices.
