The study of aerodynamic load's actions on canopy design and safety escape of aircraft

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The model of the canopy aerodynamics load is developed to study the trend of the canopy aerodynamics load varying with flight state. A case study of simulating the inner and outer surface stress of aircraft canopy was conducted. The validation cases show the max steady load was located at maximal height of greatest flight Mach number within flight envelope. The intensity and rigidity of canopy and locking force must satisfy the thrust force induced by max steady load. Furthermore, the effect of steady load on canopy jettison was not been ignored.
