The influence of magnetic field on the phase transformation of TbDyFe/CuZnAl composite

Abstract

Multi-functional TbDyFe/CuZnAl composite was prepared by means of the melting and casting method. It has been found that TbDyFe panicles distribute homogeneously in the matrix and the interface of the TbDyFe panicle and CuZnAl is sharp, which means that almost no diffusion occurred between the two materials during the preparation process. Both the shape memory effect of CuZnAl and the ferromagnetic property of TbDyFe are still kept. The magnetic field increases the transformation temperature of martensite(M) to austenite(A), however, has little influence on A M transformation of the composite. When the composite was heated, an increase of magnetization was observed at the start temperature of M A.
