Abstract
Shape memory alloys (SMA) have been applied broadly in orthopedics clinic. However some detailed biomechanical performances were still known little. In this paper, Ni-Ti alloy straddle nails and bone tighting rings were tested and their regulations of recovery force under different resistance were investigated. It was found that the recovery force covered a wide range in different opening and the maximal recovery force increased with the opening height was increased. In addition, different configurations also had dissimilar effects on the recovery force. The results showed significance to the clinical application and function of SMA orthopedic instruments.
