Abstract

In this research, a set of ergonomics evaluation system suitable for the design of high-altitude partial pressure suits has been developed. In this experiment, 21 Chinese men were tested on three ergonomic indicators (operating tasks, operating distance, and operating intensity) using a three-dimensional video motion capture system, target board, hand dynamometer, and step meter. Using regression fitting analysis method, 36 ergonomic indicators were evaluated and optimized. Some indicators that were found to be linearly correlated and redundant were removed from the study. A set of optimal ergonomics index system can be easily and quickly evaluated for the design performance of different pressurized/nonpressurized spacesuits. The ergonomics index system will provide mission planners, space suit designers and engineers designing equipment for human use, and assist in the evaluation of partial pressure space suits to provide theoretical basis and practical guidance.
