Abstract
By means of nonlinear finite element method, the sinking deflection of double curvature autobody panels has been analysed. The corresponding relationship between load and deflection in the large displacement range is established, and further, the quantitative evaluating parameter and inspecting criteria are proposed, which have been proved to be agreement with the experiment. They can provide a quantitative prediction and comprehensive description on the sinking stiffness of double curvature auto-body panels in selecting materials and optimizing design and forming processes of autobody panels.
