The analysis and design of high-speed brushless resolver plus R/D converter shaft-angle measurement system

Abstract

The motor shaft-angle measurement system consists of brushless resolver and tracking resolver-to-digital converter (RDC) is discussed in this paper. For the case of aeronautical application, the influence of several factors on the positioning accuracy is investigated, especially the rotation speed and the total resistance of the excitation coils of the brushless resolver, which are always neglected by former researchers. Based on the analysis some rules for the design of that kind of brushless resolver are proposed. Finally, a design example is given.
