Abstract

Motor protection modules are widely used to monitor and control the operation of motors. When deviations from specified speed parameters occur, they promptly disconnect power to prevent further damage. The motor protection module may provide inaccurate measurements of real-time speed when subjected to electromagnetic interference, potentially leading to incorrect system shutdowns or operational interruptions. This study focuses on investigating the electromagnetic susceptibility of motor protection modules. In order to simulate complex electromagnetic environments, typical interference signals are injected into the motor protection module. We analyze the susceptibility threshold curves for different interference signals and explore the susceptibility law. This leads to the conclusion that the motor protection module exhibits time-dependent susceptibility behavior, which means that the pulse-modulated interference signals present the highest susceptibility risk to the motor protection module.
