Tensile test and simulation of woven composite laminates after high velocity impact

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

Tensile mechanical behaviors of two kinds composite laminates G803/5224 and G827/5224 specimen after high-speed impact were investigated separately. The influences of open-hole on the specimen's net tensile strength were analyzed by comparing with standard specimen's experimental results. An FEM model was established to simulate the damage growth in the laminates. Different equivalent zones were applied to model different velocity impact damages, and different damage criteria and modulus attenuation rules were used for two different ply forms.
