Abstract
Tensile tests after velocity impact were carried out on honeycomb core sandwich specimens. Some methods were used to study the cause of tensile failure: X ray, deeply and visual inspection. The relationship between residual tensile strength and impact energy was analyzed. The results show that in the course of tension, four failure modes existed meanwhile and interacted each other. Impact damage affected the tensile ability of honeycomb core sandwich panel.
