Abstract

Microstructure of rapidly solidified single crystal Ni-based superalloy treated by laser-glazing was observed by TEM and STEM-EDAX techniques. Various strange flower-like MC carbides (TiC) were found in the narrow interdendritic regions together with superfine γ'precipitates and higher density dislocations in the γ matrix.
